Question 1

How do I bail someone out of jail?

Accepted Answer

Call Chad Conley Bail Bonds at 855-BAD-CHAD (855-223-2423) any time, day or night. We are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Tell us the name of the person in custody, which jail they are in, and the bail amount if you know it. We will handle everything from there and get your loved one out as fast as possible.

Question 2

What information do I need to bail someone out?

Accepted Answer

You need the full legal name of the person in custody, the jail or detention facility they are being held at, and the bail amount if it has been set. If bail has not been set yet, call us anyway — we can look up the information and walk you through the next steps.

Question 3

How long does it take to get someone out of jail?

Accepted Answer

After the bail bond paperwork is signed and the 10% premium is paid, release typically takes 2 to 8 hours depending on the jail and how busy the processing unit is. Some jails are faster than others. Chad works quickly to submit the bond as soon as possible.

Question 4

Are you available on nights, weekends, and holidays?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Chad Conley Bail Bonds is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year — including Christmas, Thanksgiving, New Year's Eve, and every other holiday. Arrests do not follow business hours and neither do we. Call 855-BAD-CHAD any time.

Question 5

How much does a bail bond cost in California?

Accepted Answer

In California, a bail bond costs 10% of the total bail amount set by the court. This is the state-regulated premium rate and is non-refundable. For example, if bail is set at $10,000, you pay $1,000. If bail is $50,000, you pay $5,000. Chad Conley Bail Bonds offers flexible payment plans so you can get your loved one out even if you cannot pay the full premium upfront.

Question 6

Do you offer payment plans?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Chad Conley Bail Bonds offers flexible payment plans. We understand that bail is unexpected and families are often not prepared for the cost. We work with you to structure a payment plan that gets your loved one out now and lets you pay over time. Call 855-BAD-CHAD to discuss your options.

Question 7

What forms of payment do you accept?

Accepted Answer

We accept cash, credit cards, debit cards, Zelle, and Apple Pay. We work hard to make the payment process as easy as possible so there are no delays in getting your loved one released.

Question 8

Is the bail bond premium refundable?

Accepted Answer

No. The 10% bail bond premium is the fee for the bail bondsman's service and is non-refundable under California law, even if the charges are dropped or the case is dismissed. This is the state-regulated rate that all licensed bail bondsmen must charge.

Question 9

What is a bail bond and how does it work?

Accepted Answer

A bail bond is a financial guarantee that a defendant will appear at all required court dates. When someone is arrested, a judge sets a bail amount. Instead of paying the full amount in cash to the court, you hire a licensed bail bondsman like Chad Conley who posts the full bail for a 10% fee. If the defendant appears at all court dates, the bond is discharged at the end of the case.

Question 10

What happens if the defendant misses a court date?

Accepted Answer

If the defendant misses a court date, the court will issue a bench warrant for their arrest and the bail bond may be forfeited. This means the full bail amount becomes due. It is critical that the defendant attends every court appearance. If you are worried about a missed court date, call Chad immediately at 855-BAD-CHAD.

Question 11

What is a PC 1275 bail hold?

Accepted Answer

A PC 1275 hold is when the court places a hold on bail because they suspect the money used to pay the bail came from illegal activity. When a PC 1275 hold is placed, the defendant cannot be released until the source of the bail funds is proven to be legitimate. Chad Conley has extensive experience navigating PC 1275 holds and can guide you through the process.

Question 12

What is a cosigner and what are their responsibilities?

Accepted Answer

A cosigner is someone who signs the bail bond agreement and takes responsibility for ensuring the defendant appears at all court dates. If the defendant fails to appear, the cosigner may be responsible for the full bail amount and any recovery costs. Cosigners should only sign if they trust the defendant will appear in court.
