For Criminal Defense Attorneys
I Taught Attorneys the Bail Process. Now I Want to Work With You.
I wrote the course. I sued the state. I was cited in a $69.4 million federal antitrust case for telling the truth about bail pricing. I have been doing this since 2008 and I have never cold-called a client's family. That is where we start.
The Credentials No Other Bail Bondsman in California Has
This is not a marketing claim. Every item below is a matter of public record.
Continuing Legal Education: Provider #17859
In 2015, I wrote 'Demystifying the Bail Bond Process' — approved as Provider #17859, 1.0 CLE credit hour, November 2015. I am no longer active as a provider. You may have taken a course like mine. I wrote it.
Prop 103 Rebate Pioneer
I hired an attorney, studied California insurance law, and became the first bail agent in the state to publicly state that Proposition 103 allows premium rebates — that clients have a legal right to pay less than 10%. The industry tried to silence me. A federal antitrust class action later cited my 2014 statement as the only clear public acknowledgment from a California bail agent that rebates were legal.
Cited in Crain v. Accredited Surety
Crain v. Accredited Surety and Casualty Company — filed January 29, 2019. Several defendants reached proposed settlements totaling $69.4 million. I was not a defendant. I was cited in the complaint as evidence that the truth about bail pricing was publicly available and that the industry suppressed it anyway. That is the kind of bail bondsman I am.
Licensed Since 2008 — CDI #1845390
California Department of Insurance License #1845390. Active since 2008. No disciplinary actions. You can verify that at the CDI website in thirty seconds. I encourage you to.
Sued the Insurance Commissioner — and Lost
In 2016, I filed Conley v. Dave Jones (BC630383) challenging the rule that made it illegal for me to help my own family navigate the legal system after an arrest. I lost. I follow the ruling. I still believe families deserve better. I built the Resource Directory as the legal answer to the question I was not allowed to answer directly.
What Your Clients Get When They Call Me
Your client gets arrested at 2am. Their family calls a bail bondsman. Here is what happens when that bondsman is me.
Apply From a Phone — Right Now
Online application, fully mobile. No office visit. No waiting until morning. Your client's family can start the process from the parking lot of the jail.
Five Ways to Pay
Square, Zelle, Apple Pay, Venmo (@Chad-Conley-12), Cash App ($ChadConley8). Families in crisis do not always have a checkbook. I meet them where they are.
Five Languages — Real Service, Not a Widget
Spanish-speaking staff. Dedicated portals in Vietnamese, Mandarin, Korean, and Farsi with AI-assisted chat. Twenty years of working in communities where English is not the first language. Your client's family will be understood.
The Most Comprehensive Resource Directory in Southern California
Attorneys, investigators, rehab facilities, recovery programs, mental health services, expungement help. No referral fees. No kickbacks. Built because I was legally prohibited from recommending an attorney and I built the next best thing.
The Road Back
A full post-release guidance section — what to do after bail is posted, how to stay out, how to rebuild. Nobody else in this industry built this. I did it because I have been where your clients are.
Military and Veteran Support
Dedicated content and resources for active duty, veterans, and their families. I understand the stakes are different when a service member is arrested. I treat them accordingly.
Non-Citizen Clients Welcome
Citizens, legal residents, work visas, expired papers, undocumented — I will help. I ask direct questions and structure the bond accordingly. Honesty is the only requirement. Your client's immigration status does not disqualify them.
Why This Matters to Your Practice
The bail bondsman your client uses affects your case. Here is how.
I Do Not Cold-Call Your Client's Family
Most bail bond companies buy arrest data and start calling every number associated with your client before the defendant can make a single call. I have watched this destroy families — a client arrested for a sensitive charge whose parents, grandparents, and siblings all received calls from a stranger saying 'your son is in jail' before he could tell them himself. I do not do that. I wait for the call to come to me.
I Call You, Not Your Client
If a client gives me your name as their attorney, I call you. Not their mother. Not their employer. You. I understand the attorney-client relationship and I respect it.
No Referral Fees. Ever.
I am legally prohibited from paying referral fees to attorneys. I follow that rule. I am also ethically opposed to the entire system of kickbacks that runs quietly through this industry. If you refer a client to me, it is because I earned it — not because I paid for it.
I Will Tell Your Client the Truth About Pricing
Proposition 103 allows premium rebates. Your client has a legal right to ask for a lower rate. I will tell them that. Most bondsmen will not. If your client is paying 10% when they could be paying less, that is money that could go toward your fee, their family's stability, or their defense.
My Record — The Full One
I have two felonies on my record. 1996 marijuana conviction — Proposition 64 gave me relief. I have been licensed and working without incident since 2008.
I have been pre-judged by this industry since the day I walked in. I have also been right about things this industry did not want to hear for twenty years. The Prop 103 rebate fight. The CLE course. The lawsuit. The antitrust citation. The Resource Directory. The Road Back.
I do not ask you to trust me because I have a clean record. I ask you to judge me by what I have built, what I have fought for, and what I do when nobody is watching. That is the only standard I have ever held myself to.
Do the research. Search California bail bondsmen. Look for another individual agent with this background, these credentials, and this record of fighting for clients. I do not believe you will find one.
Call Me Directly
I am available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If you have a client who needs a bail bond, or if you want to talk about what I do and how I work, call me. No sales pitch. Just a conversation.
