San Bernardino County Sex Crime Arrests — What You're Facing

San Bernardino County is one of the largest counties in the United States by area, and its courts handle a significant volume of sex crime cases. Defendants are typically held at West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga or the Central Detention Center in San Bernardino. Bail amounts are set by the San Bernardino County bail schedule and routinely run $100,000 to over $1,000,000 for felony sex charges. Most bail agents won't write these bonds. Chad does — and he has the experience to navigate the conditions, the cosigner requirements, and the court process.

Why Sex Crime Bail Bonds Require a Specialist

Standard bail agents are not equipped for these cases. The bail amounts are large, the conditions are complex, and the cosigner scrutiny is intense. Chad has spent years building the expertise and the relationships to get these bonds written.

High Bail Experience

Chad regularly writes bonds in the $100K–$1M+ range. He knows how to structure the collateral and cosigner package to get approval.

No Judgment

Chad does not judge the charge. He believes in the constitutional right to bail and in the families who are fighting for their loved ones.

Discretion Guaranteed

These cases are sensitive. Chad handles every call and every file with complete confidentiality.

SB County Court Knowledge

Chad knows the San Bernardino County courts, the bail schedule, and the detention facilities — WVDC and Central Detention Center.

DA Escalation Experience

Chad has seen prosecutors use bail increases as a pressure tactic. He credits prior premiums toward any increase on the same case.

Cosigner Requirements for High-Bail Sex Crime Cases

Sex crime bonds require a strong cosigner package. The higher the bail, the more documentation Chad will need. Here is what to expect.

  • Valid government-issued photo ID
  • Proof of California residency (utility bill, lease, or mortgage statement)
  • Proof of income or employment (pay stubs, tax returns, or bank statements)
  • For bonds over $100,000: real property equity documentation or vehicle titles
  • Willingness to ensure the defendant appears at all court dates
  • Understanding that the premium is earned and non-refundable once the defendant is released

Non-citizens can cosign. Chad will ask direct questions and structure the bond accordingly. Honesty is the only requirement.

Chad's Real-World Experience

The DA Bail Escalation Tactic — And Why It Matters

Sex crime cases carry something most bail agents won't tell you about: prosecutors sometimes use bail as a pressure tool. Chad has seen it happen more than once — a defendant posts a $200,000 bond, then additional interviews with the accuser produce new charges, a re-arrest, and a bond increase to $600,000. The family scrapes together everything they have. Then it happens again — more counts, more charges, bond raised past a million dollars.

This is not a conspiracy theory. It is a documented DA strategy in high-profile sex crime cases. The family ends up trapped, unable to post the escalating bond, with the defendant sitting in custody while the case is built around them.

Chad's Credit Policy on Bond Increases

If your bond is increased on the same case in the same county, you do not pay the full premium on the new amount. Chad credits what you have already paid toward the increase. If your bond goes from $500,000 to $1,000,000, you only pay the premium on the additional $500,000 — not on the full million. Every time. No exceptions.

This is not standard industry practice. Most bondsmen treat a re-arrest as a brand new bond and charge accordingly. Chad does not. He believes the family has already been through enough.

I believe you should always have the right to bail. That right should never be taken away — and it should never be weaponized against a family that is already fighting for their loved one.

A Word From Chad — Why I Do This

These bonds are usually large. I end up talking to a lot of different family members — mothers, fathers, wives, husbands, sisters, brothers. High bonds. And one of the things I've really noticed is that the cosigners and the family struggle with something deeper than the money.

Should I cosign for him — for this type of thing? It's so looked down on in society. The thought of even helping somebody if they did something like this. People really struggle with that. Sometimes it makes them sit back, take longer, dread going through the paperwork. It's a very, very sad deal.

I think it's hard to find the right thing to say. Because in a way, I feel like they have to go through a process — because it's their family member. Pick anybody around you that you love right this minute. Whether it's the most likely or the least likely person you could even imagine. It's just super hard to process. And on top of it, you're expected to decide: do I help them?

That part I truly understand. I've talked a lot about the hard things I've been through building this business. Fighting for people every day — seeing so much negativity, so much horrible stuff that people go through and do to their lives — it wears on you. So in a sense, I truly understand how these family members feel. And I think that's one of the reasons they're pretty comfortable with me. I don't judge.

Of all the crimes I can bond people out for — and there are a lot of big ones, big cases, big bonds — I have to say that for sex crime cases, I'm in this for the cosigner. If you could see what these families are going through when it comes to this crime, it's hard. There's just no other more horrifying thing for these cosigners. That's got to be the closest to my heart.

As for the defendant — honestly, I don't really think about them. I think about the cosigners. And I think about the Constitution. The right not to be handcuffed, thrown in a jail with no windows, no lights, no way out, not knowing when you'll ever get out or why you're being held — that can't happen under our Constitution. That's why I believe in this process.

There are a lot of people who uphold this process — judges, court staff, bailiffs, police, criminal defense attorneys, investigators, specialists. And the bondsman. Honestly, sometimes I think we're more important than the attorney. Don't tell them I said that. But that's why I do it. Those are my words.

I'm in this for the cosigner. If you could see what these families are going through — that's got to be the closest to my heart.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where is someone arrested for a sex crime in San Bernardino held?
Defendants arrested in the City of San Bernardino are typically held at the Central Detention Center (CDC) at 630 E. Rialto Ave, San Bernardino, or transferred to West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga for longer-term housing. Chad works with both facilities.
How quickly can Chad post a sex crime bail bond in San Bernardino?
Once the bail is set and the cosigner paperwork is complete, Chad can typically post bond within 2–4 hours. He works around the clock and can begin the process immediately after your call.
Can a family member cosign a sex crime bail bond even if they don't own property?
Yes. Property is one form of collateral but not the only option. Chad evaluates each situation individually — income, vehicles, savings, and other assets can all factor into the cosigner package for the right case.
What happens if the defendant is re-arrested and bail is increased?
Chad credits what you've already paid toward any bail increase on the same case in the same county. You only pay the premium on the additional amount — not the full new bond total. This is Chad's policy, not industry standard.
Will Chad's involvement become public or show up in news searches?
Chad handles all cases with complete discretion. He does not publicize client information. Arrest records are public, but Chad's role as bondsman is not something he discusses outside the case.
